Wow - the tone of is article is a tad defensive! The old ways of radio are dying for a reason! Pandora is personalized and often includes songs off the beaten path. Big broadcasters need to do some of that! Come to terms with people wanting a little variety. You can't compete with the complete personalization of Pandora/Last.fm! Instead of dismissing the competition it would be wiser to target the iPod generation and do what radio does best and iPod can't: personalities, local interaction (shout outs/requests), news, interviews, etc. Everything but the music!

Also support internet streams so that people can listen in other places than their car, iPhone apps work well for that! Don't be so dismissive, eventually technology will be a bigger part of our drive time. Fight to be relevant!
